Microaggressions: Identifying and Eliminating them

by Sarah Ducharme on 2022-01-17T16:02:00+08:00 | 0 Comments

Microaggressions are...

  • "the brief and commonplace daily verbal, behavioral, and environmental indignities, whether intentional or unintentional, that communicate hostile, derogatory, or negative racial, gender, sexual orientation, and religious slights and insults to the target person or group” (Solorzano et al).

Because microaggressions may be unintentional, they can continue unchecked and become increasingly hurtful over time. As a community, we hope to identify and speak to microaggressions when they happen so we can eliminate them from our day-to-day interactions.

al .2007)。
