Search for scholarly and academic articles

Citations, in brief:

  • The IB (and SIS) requires you to give credit to every source of info, idea or image that you borrow from someone else.

  • The QUALITY of your sources matters.

  • For art, you also need to label your own work so it's clear.

  • The IB doesn't care what style you use, but be consistent.

  • Use Noodletools, MLA 9

  • For every image, the IB wants: title, artist, date and source. Include the medium!

Suggestions:

  • Have an images list numbered (Image 1, Image 2) in the order the images appear. Use MLA citation in Images list.

  • The first time you use an image, use the number and full citation in caption.

  • Have a Works Cited list for your sources.

  • Every slide needs captions or citations to say where you got the images and info.

Where do I find images?

Sites for Copyright-Free Images

  • You can use these because the creators have made them copyright-free
  • If the image says "No attribution" you can use it without citing it
